CWPRS is doing a wonderful job for various states in India in building
Dams, Reservoirs, Hydro-electric Power Stations, etc. That this
modelling by the CWPRS has been a great success is evident from the
fact the State Governments for whom models were produced have
persuaded the CWPRS not to dismantle the designs so that they remained
safe for future. I wish the CWPRS fraternity under the able
leadership of Mrs. Bendre all success ahead.

I visited CWPRS,
Pune (Khadakwasla) to examine the Scheduled Castes employees schemes
and their welfare guaranteed under the Constitution of India. I was
satisfied with the work done in this respect by the Director and the
staff. We gave some suggestions and they agreed to implement them as
per rules. However, their other work of providing hydraulic
models and research work in this regard was very impressive. I was
shown Bombay Port, Narmada (Sardar Sarovar) and Yamuna River Project.
I was really stunned to see the work they have done in this respect.
I must congratulate Dr. (Mrs) Bendre and her colleagues for this
wonderful work. I wish them well in their future undertakings in this
connection as they get work from various states of India and foreign
countries.

The
Central Water & Power Research Station, Pune, is a visual
feast. The Director, Dr (Mrs) Bendre and her collegues have
developed hydraulic models that constitute the best example of
dealing with .... relating to hydraulic knowledge. The visit
to Yamuna/Salma Hydroelectric Project, Trishuli/Uri Project, Mumbai
Port was a rewarding experience. I was very happy to
understand the positive sides of their achievement. I would
suggest that the Station must initiate on sizable effort directed
forwards collaboration at international level and organise vigorous
exchange of ideas among scientists in field, throughout India.
I wish the institute excellent achievement in the years to come. -

One
is astonished at the work done by the institute in last go
years. The forefathers thought of future generations and in a
way guided them to do the right things. We should always keep
this in mind and whenever we take decisions should always be mindful

project. I thank the institute for planning for world's future

Visiting
CWPRS after 35 years. I have observed that the establishment
has lived upto its time reputation of providing feasibility study
and validating models through a variety of means. The report
on Project Victor generally meets our requirements. We shall
continue to use the establishment for our solutions. I was
extremely happy to see the commitments of the people I met. I wish

My
visit to CWPRS which was basically concentrated on the mathematical

In fact, the models together with the success stories give an
indication that CWPRS can make a substantial contribution in

was very impressed by the workmanship and management of the random

one who sanctioned the project at a cost of Rs. 3 crores I had this
satisfaction of seeing that the money was well spent and would serve
the needs of MPT in all its development plan in future. I cannot
leave this note without making a special mention being made about
the dynamism and drive of the new Director. I am sure this research station will witness faster growth
under her dynamic leadership.

I
stayed in the campus of CWPRS for almost two days. What surprises me is the way this huge institute functioning.
Proper
attention to this institution seems not given by all of us who are
at the helm of affairs. I
believe, if proper scope, more infrastructure, more scope for
research and due publicity are given, CWPRS will surely turn to be a top most organization of
this kind in the world. I
appreciate dedicated work of the staff including scientists,
engineers and other workers. Mrs. Bendre, Director, is the inspiring force behind.
I wish her luck for more progressive achievement.
