About Us
The water quality lab at CWPRS is NABL ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited for testing of Water quality Parameters using sensors viz., BOD, Conductivity, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), pH, Turbidity and density. The Water quality laboratory at CWPRS is also equipped with advanced analytical instruments including Ion Chromatograph and Spectrophotometer. In addition to the NABL-accredited parameters, the laboratory also undertakes testing of the following parameters as per the relevant IS standards, under non-NABL criteria
Physico-chemical:
- Total Dissolved Solids, Residual Chlorine, Calcium hardness, Total Hardness Alkalinity and Suspended sediment concentration of water samples.
Cations:
- Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium and Ammonium of water samples
Anions:
- Fluorides, Chlorides, Nitrite, Nitrate, Phosphate and Sulphate of water sample.
Heavy Metals:
- Iron, Zinc, Nickel, Cobalt and Manganese of water samples.
- Other parameters can also be carried out on client/ project demand
Additionally, Water quality monitors with parameters viz., pH, EC, turbidity and DO intended for deployment in rivers, streams, lakes, and other water bodies can be tested under controlled environment condition in the Sensor testing chamber. The testing is accrediting under NABL, while calibration of the sensors is carried out using internal procedure.
Unique Features of the Water Quality Sensors Calibration Laboratory
- Environmental chamber to simulate different temperature (5°C to 45°C) and humidity (40–90% RH) conditions
- Testing and calibration without human intervention using a robotic arm
In addition to supporting government agencies, the facility is also available for suppliers and manufacturers of water quality sensors for testing and calibration of the parameters mentioned above.
