Surface Water Level Sensors Demonstration Facility
The Surface Water Level Sensors Demonstration Facility is developed under the
National Hydrology Project (NHP) for demonstration of Contact (Shaft Encoder)
and Non-Contact (Radar & Ultrasonic) type Automated Water Level Recorders (AWLR)
to delegates and participants of State Implementing Agencies during training
programs.

Unique Features of AWLR Demonstration Facility
-
Hands-on experience of contact and non-contact type AWLR sensors along with
data logger and telemetry systems.
-
Key points for installation and maintenance of AWLR at site for precise
measurement of surface water level.
-
Clear understanding of advantages, disadvantages and limitations of contact
and non-contact AWLR in terms of operation, installation, maintenance and range.
-
Clarity regarding blanking distance and beam angle of radar AWLR for various
ranges of operation.
Apart from AWLR sensors, the laboratory is equipped with high precision data
logger and GSM antenna for telemetry. This demonstration facility provides
complete site experience with standard installation procedures of AWLR.
