Dam Instrumentation division is engaged in carrying out studies related to dam safety by providing consultancy towards advanced monitoring and assessment techniques ensuring the structural integrity and operational efficiency of the dams.
Dam instrumentation division at CWPRS has been instrumental in enhancing the safety and longevity of dams through tailored and cutting-edge monitoring solutions and expert consultancy.
Core Functions and Areas of Specialization:
- Functionality Assessment: Dam Instrumentation division offers comprehensive functionality assessment of existing instrumentation in the dams to identify the potential areas for improvement, upgradation and maintenance and also, suggesting the specific strategies for those areas.
- Regulatory Compliance: To ensure that dam operations adhere to national and international safety standards, providing guidance on best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Sensor Installation: The division, also, provides consultancy towards selection and installation of various sensors to monitor parameters such as water pressure, structural movement, seepage, etc. These sensors provide real-time data critical for the early detection of potential issues.
As an ever-evolving approach with rapidly advancing technologies and modern requirements, the dam instrumentation division, is expanding its area of expertise for providing consultancy and services in the fields of Effective Data collection and remote monitoring solutions.
Significant Contributions:
- Provided consultancy towards installation of more than 260 instruments at various levels and chainages at Indira Sagar dam project.
- Revived the existing and nonfunctional instrumentation for hydraulic pore pressure measurements at various dam sites.
